Our Recreation Commission is responsible for 5 parks. They are The Aquatic Center, Easy Walker Park, Botts Park, The Dog Park (Pribble Park) and Bypass Park. The Easy Walker Park Pavilion, Botts Park Pavilion and Botts Dock are available for rent. Refer to the calendar on this website for information on the dates the areas are already reserved. If a shelter has been reserved through the Mt. Sterling-Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department by an individual, then it will not be available to the public on that date. All shelters are first-come, first-serve during the week and are rented out on the weekends. Reservations are for the entire day. Shelters/Pavilions are not available for partial-day or hourly rental.
Terms Of Use
The Mt. Sterling Montgomery County Recreation Commission will not be responsible for any injuries incurred by individuals or groups leasing the facility. The facility will be left in the order that it was received and the tenant shall be responsible and will be billed for any damage. Trash will need to be removed from the containers.
Recreation Bowl Park “The Mound”
- Newly renamed and being renovated. The Mound offers basketball courts, pickleball courts, and a skate park with more to come!

Botts Park
- Park is Located at : 6305 Indian Mound Drive, Mt. Sterling Ky. 40353
- Pond, playground, walking trails, disc golf course, plenty of parking, pavilion with grill, water and electric available. Bathroom facility available during business hours 8am-4pm.
Pavilion Rental:
- Bathroom facility available during business hours 8am-4pm. Portable restrooms available when bathroom facility is locked.
- Bathroom facility access key is available for weekends through our main office. You must come into the office prior to rental to sign for key. You must provide valid drivers license, and provide deposit. Facility must be clean and left the way it was opened to receive deposit upon key return at next business day after rental.
- All rentals are non-refundable.

Becca’s Butterfly Garden at Botts Park
Becca’s Butterfly Habitat is a volunteer project dedicated to developing an area at Botts Nature Park in Mt. Sterling, KY into a garden that supports Monarchs and other butterflies. The garden has officially been registered as a Monarch Waystation. Signs throughout the garden will identify plants and explain their importance to the butterfly life cycle. The vision for this project grew out of a desire to honor the memory of my daughter, Becca, whom we lost in 2017. She was my nature girl. She loved all creatures great and small. All labor, whether it is growing plants from seed, or prepping the site- it will be accomplished by youth and adult volunteers from our community. Thanks for your support!
